The Lenox School Committee voted on Monday evening that, assuming we are returning to hybrid learning at school, the LMMHS athletic department will organize and run both Nordic and Alpine skiing with an anticipated start date during the week of January 19th. We are in the process of organizing details with the coaches of the two programs, but if there are any student-athletes interested in either program, they are required to go to the FamilyID link below and register for the sport before the end of the day on Monday, January 11th. This will give the administration time to check academic eligibility and the nurse time to check all physicals are up to date. A reminder that the physical rule is from the State Association and not something that we are able to change – physicals are good for 13 months from the date of issue and need to be on file with the nurse at school. A reminder that the second quarter ends on January 29th and new eligibility will be determined at that time as well.
There will be a mandatory Zoom meeting for all athletes and guardians once all details are ironed out and prior to practices starting. The link to that meeting will be sent only to those athletes and families that have been registered on the FamilyID link (see below). Practices will be scheduled through the coaching staff and will start the week of Tuesday, January 19th after school. We are excited to have these opportunities for our skiers – sorry we cannot offer more at this time due to the pandemic.
