Massachusetts Boys State and Girls State

Juniors in good academic standing are eligible to attend the Boys State and Girls State program.  The program will run from June 17th until June 23rd, 2017 at Stonehill College in Easton.  Boys State and Girls State give students the knowledge and skills to become engaged, responsible members of our democracy.  Students attend classes that give them practical information on how our local and state governments work.  There are also classes on topics like the economy and college admissions, and speakers such as US federal judge William Young, former governor Deval Patrick and current State Auditor Suzanne Bump.  Students spend the entire week on Stonehill campus, living in dorms, studying in class rooms and playing on fields.  Boys State is a program of the American Legion and Girls State is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary.  To learn more about sponsorship you may contact your local Legion post, your local Auxiliary or Boys State and Girls State directly through their websites, www.maboysstate.org or www.massgirlsstate.org
