The library is pleased to welcome Ms. Melissa Pehlert as our new library assistant! Prior to working at LMMHS, Ms. Pehlert worked at Morris Elementary for the past 11 years, most recently as a paraprofessional in the kindergarten classroom. A native of Berkshire County and a Lenox resident for 20 years, Ms. Pehlert is a graduate of UMass Amherst and has a background in environmental science and chemistry; she worked for ten years as an environmental consultant, traveling the U.S. She has two daughters in high school, Rosemary and Julie, and is involved with their soccer and basketball teams.
We are thrilled to welcome her to LMMHS, where she loves being able to see her former kindergarten students navigate middle and high school. Volunteering her time as a Girl Scout Leader for the past seven years, Ms. Pehlert has wonderful connections with the students and enjoys working with them in the library, both before and after school. When she is lucky enough to get a moment of free time, Ms. Pehlert may be found walking her Boston terrier, Buddy, knitting, reading historical non-fiction, and creating Italian meals from recipes lovingly passed down from her Swiss grandparents.
When you are next in the building, please stop by to welcome Ms. Pehlert!
