POSTPONED 2020 Berkshire Robotics Challenge

Due to prudent health practices…communication from

Concern over the spread of the coronavirus has been a national and international concern for weeks, but has become a local threat since the Massachusetts Department of Health has confirmed five presumptive cases of the coronavirus in Berkshire County.

Because crowds represent the greatest opportunity to transmit the coronavirus, any organizations planning large events are considering their options, with most making the decision to postpone or cancel. The Berkshire Eagle has reported that the Marian Fathers have canceled the annual Divine Mercy Sunday outdoor celebration planned for this weekend and local schools, including the Lenox Public Schools (our host for the Berkshire Robotics Competition), are discussing or have canceled school and/or events.

The Berkshire Robotics Challenge planning committee has made the decision to postpone the Berkshire Robotics Challenge, currently scheduled for Saturday, March 21st until a date in May or June (date and location TBD).  As one member of the planning committee noted, the event won’t be quite as exciting without the threat of a snow day, but we will manage!

The health and safety of the children, as well as their parents and coaches, is our top priority.  Please let us know what questions or concerns you might have.

Thank you for understanding.   We will be in touch with you in the near future with options for postponement.
