This is William Cameron, Superintendent of the Lenox Public Schools. In addition to this voice message, you will receive a written copy by e-mail. The text of this message will also appear on the District’s website, as well as on the Morris and LMMHS websites.
I am calling to notify you that I am cancelling all instruction and delivery of other services in the Lenox Public Schools on Thursday, December 17. I am doing so because of the nature and duration of the storm that the National Weather Service is predicting for tonight and tomorrow.
Predictions are that driving conditions tomorrow morning will be perilous. Many teachers and special education service providers work at school, and some students receive special education services at school. For safety’s sake I am therefore closing our schools tomorrow to students and staff except for custodial personnel responsible for snow removal. What’s more, the high winds predicted for this storm pose a threat to the reliability of our staff and students’ Internet connections. We cannot proceed remotely if some students may not be able to participate in remote learning. I am therefore cancelling remote instruction for tomorrow, as well.
To repeat, all instruction and delivery of other services in the Lenox Public Schools are cancelled for tomorrow, Thursday, December 17. Thank you for your attention. Please stay safe.
