Dear parents and guardians,
We hope that this update from the Health Office finds families healthy. As the State of Massachusetts begins to reopen, please remember to keep yourself and others healthy by washing your hands frequently for 20 seconds with soap and water, social/physical distance yourself, wear a face mask in public places where distancing is difficult, and disinfect surfaces frequently touched, in your home and cars.
As we all begin to adjust to the “new normal,” and with the hope that we will be returning to our school buildings in August, here are a few reminders as you begin to think about preparing for the start of school; students entering Kindergarten and 4th grades at Morris, and students entering 7th and 11th grades at LMMHS, are required to submit a recent (within the past 12 months) Physical Exam and updated Immunization Record to the school Health Office. NEW for the 2020-2021 school year, both 7th and 11th graders are required to have an updated Meningococcal Conjugate vaccine, see attached information sheet.
Those students with Immunization Exemptions must submit a letter or form ANNUALLY to be in compliance with Massachusetts Public Health requirements (our form is available on the school website under the Health Services tab). Students with chronic health issues, please update the school health office with current Emergency Action Plans, as well as medication orders for the 2020-2021 school year, should your student require any prescription medications to be administered at school. Please contact our office with any questions or concerns you have regarding your student’s health needs at school. We will continue to monitor our emails throughout the summer and can access our voice mail at the Health Office from home, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Have a safe and healthy summer,
Jen Drees, BSN RN NCSN Kathleen Shove, BSN RN
