Instructional Task Force

Open to all LPS faculty and staff

You are invited to participate on the Lenox Public Schools Instructional Technology Task Force!  The “always-on” nature of the Internet and the proliferating use of mobile access devices provide Lenox, and districts across the Commonwealth, with an outstanding opportunity to create learning experiences that are available any time and in any place. In addition, when these technology-assisted learning experiences reflect design principles for personalized learning and Universal Design for Learning, Lenox can increase the equity of access to educational settings for all students especially students who have faced historic and persistent disadvantages or students who are gifted and require higher level enriched learning opportunities.

The purpose of this Task Force is to create a direction for the Lenox Public Schools by way of instructional technology.  As such, the mission of the Task Force will be to write an Instructional Technology Plan for 2018-2021.  The focus areas of the Plan may include the following:

Foundation – Who are we as a school and how have we historically used technology? Looking ahead, what is our overarching vision for using technology as an instructional tool?

Curriculum & Instruction – What specific curriculum or instructional goals are we trying to accomplish through the use of technology and digital learning tools? How will technology be used to help students master curriculum standards, such as Common Core or Next Generation Science Standards?

Professional Development – What is the current level of technology proficiency for teachers and administrators? What professional development support do these individuals need to accomplish the curriculum and instruction goals?

Hardware & Infrastructure – What digital hardware does the school currently possess? What additional hardware or services will need to be purchased?

Monitoring & Evaluation – How will we track progress towards meeting our goals? What level should we achieve each year?
