The Lenox Public School District is excited to announce that beginning in the 2016-17 school year, the Morris Integrated Preschool will run five full days, from 8:30-2:30. This is a developmentally appropriate, NAEYC accredited pre-school program providing social and early academic experiences for all children.
We offer preschool screening for three and four-year-old children who reside in Lenox who will not be entering kindergarten in September 2016. The purpose of the screening is to identify three and four-year-old children who may have a substantial delay in speech/language, conceptual, motor, emotional or social development. In order to make such a determination, a professional team administers screening tests in the areas of speech, vision, hearing, physical, social and cognitive growth.
An Open House for parents will be held at Morris Elementary School on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. The orientation will provide parents with an opportunity to meet the screening team who will give an overview of the screening process, and the Morris Integrated Preschool program. The orientation is for parents only. Children are not included at that time.
The screening will take place March 29 and 30, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Morris Elementary School and is free. Appointments are required and can be made at the Open House on March 1st or through the Lenox Student Services Office at 413-637-5571 beginning March 2nd. Appointments are made on a first come/first serve basis. NOTE: If you would like to have your child considered for the preschool program as a typical (non-special needs) child, your child MUST participate in the screening.
If you have any questions, please call the Special Needs Office at 413-637-5571. Thank you for your cooperation. We are looking forward to hearing from you
