Morris school has been identified by the Massachusetts Department of Secondary and Elementary Education as one of 44 schools designated a “Commendation School”. We received this honor for having reduced our proficiency gap between “high needs” and “non-high needs” students. High needs students are identified as having two or more risk factors for potentially struggling on standardized testing. Due to the diligence on the part of our phenomenal instructional staff at Morris and the outstanding efforts of our amazing students, we have effectively closed the gap for these students! Bravo!
Morris school has also been invited to apply for the National Blue Ribbon Award. This award recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.
