There have been so many wonderful special events and activities happening at Morris School over the past several weeks I almost don’t even know where to begin!
First,we had our annual Morris Science Fair. Students in K-5 participated in this spectacular learning-driven event. Although I was very disappointed that I was not able to attend this year due to illness, all reports were that the fair was well-attended and the student projects were outstanding. Congratulations to the 3-5 winners and all students K-5 who did the hard work to participate in this event.
On April 13, the 5th Grade class took to the stage at Shakespeare and Company to perform an abridged version of Macbeth. This is part of our annual Shakespeare residency in which students are taught about the fundamentals of acting and exposed to the authentic dialogue of William Shakespeare. The kids did an amazing job!
This week has seen the opening of our annual Morris Art Show at Kimball Farms. Mrs. Kain worked diligently to hang a piece of artwork from every student at Morris for the show. I was proud to display a painting I created this year with the second grade class as well! The residents of Kimball Farm who were at the opening were so pleased to have their hallway filled with bright colors and exquisite work. The artwork will be on display through the month of May if you would like to visit for a viewing.
From science, to theater arts, to visual arts, these events and others stand as a testament to the well-rounded education we provide students at Morris school for all of our special kids!
