Today at Morris School we had a special performance by Li Liu, a Chinese acrobat who visits schools to share her talent and a little bit about Chinese culture. Li started learning the art and skill of acrobatics at the age of 6 in Beijing, China and began touring the world at age 16, performing in circuses, on cruise lines, and at NBA half-time shows.
Morris students were mesmerized by her skills which included plate spinning, arm balancing, ribbon dancing, Chinese yo-yo tossing, and death-defying bicycle acrobatics. Several students were invited to participate in the performance to try out some basic plate-spinning and ribbon dancing techniques.
I would like to to thank the Morris PTO for sponsoring this special event for our students.
