Summer Reading Assignment for
Incoming Eighth Graders

Please read at least THREE BOOKS this summer:

· Tangerine by Edward Bloor (a contemporary young adult novel)

· one historical fiction book

· one book from a third genre of your choice (fantasy, science fiction, mystery, adventure, biography/autobiography, non-fiction, etc.)

In September you will have several graded assignments based on your summer reading. You will find it helpful to keep brief notes for each book.

Note: If you read a total of FIVE summer reading books, you will be invited to participate in an ice cream party in September. Happy reading!
