On Friday, February 8, 2019, students in grades 8-11 received a new Program of Studies for the 2019/2020 school year. The Program of Studies will assist students, parents and guardians in selecting courses for next year. Families are encouraged to review course options and prerequisites prior to the student/teacher advising days Monday, February 11th and Tuesday, February 12th. At that time, students and teachers will discuss course selections for the upcoming school year. Below is a detailed description on how students and parents/guardians should approach the course selection process.
Thursday, February 7th – Transition to 9th grade Parent Meeting open to Grade 8 Parents, 6:30 PM in the LMMHS Library.
Friday, February 8th – Distribution of the Program of Studies:
Each grade level (grades 8-11) was be called down to the Duffin Theater at which time each student will be given a copy of the Program of Studies and a Course Registration Worksheet.
Friday, February 8th, Saturday, February 9th and Sunday, February 10th – Student/Family Discussions and Course Selections:
Students will bring home the Program of Studies and Course Registration Worksheet and discuss with families the courses the student would like to take during the next academic year. (6th and 7th grades have language and math selections on sheet)
Students will bring completed Registration Worksheets to school Monday, February 11th and Tuesday, February 12th.
Monday, February 11th and Tuesday, February 12th – Advising Days: Teacher/student discussions regarding placement for next year.
Teacher sign off on Registration Worksheet.
Additional blank forms will be placed in teacher boxes to use if needed.
Wednesday, February 13th
Students return Registration Worksheets to first period teachers. The forms will be collected during first period.
