29th Annual Real Women Essay Contest for all students 6 – 12.  We all have someone in our life that we respect and admire.  This is a great opportunity to share this person’s life with your community.  She may be a person who is or has been an inspiration to you in some way. She may be someone whom you already know or would like to know and learn more about.  It can be a historical woman or a role model or mentor.  More information and an entry form are located in guidance.  Submission deadline is February 11th. 


Girls’ Leadership Worldwide  Summer Program for teen girls (ages 14 – 16) – Eleanor Roosevelt Center is holding 2 exciting 9 day residential summer program for girls, who want to build leadership skills and make a difference in their own lives, their communities and the world?  Takes place in Hyde Park, New York.  Applications available in guidance with a deadline of March 16th.


Student Relief Club – will be selling Red Velvet cupcakes February 3, 4, 5 and 6th with all proceeds going to the American Heart Association!  Also, wear RED on Friday, February 6th and receive a red wrist band!


Weight Room – for the rest of January, the weight room will be open after school from 2:30 – 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Students who need to make up PE classes should do so before the end of the marking period.  




Berkshire Woodworkers Guild Scholarship Program – On Tuesday, February 24th Mr. Jim Law from Undermountain Joiners and Peter Thorne from Peter Thorne Furniture and Design will be visiting to talk about careers in fine woodworking.  More information available in guidance or with Mr. Miller in room 19. 


Improv Comedy Club – Lenox’s first Improv Comedy after school Club will begin on Friday January 30th at 2:30 in room 35.  It is open to all High School Students.  Come and have some fun!


Job Shadow Day – will be held on Monday, February 2nd.  All sophomores should have their forms into Ms. Ritrosky ASAP!

Summer Leadership Academy at Mercy College for Juniors – Interested students will learn leadership lessons from faculty and leaders from top companies while participating in active learning and team-building opportunities.   More information is in guidance.












Science Essay Contest – Open to all students who are 13 years of age prior to Saturday, February 7, 2015.  Write an original essay created exclusively for The DuPont Challenge.  Essay must address a topic that falls under ONE of the four categories concerning a science – related topic. The Four Categories, instructions and entry form is located at http://thechallenge.dupont.com/essay


Sixth Grade Students - Please submit a photo of yourself doing your favorite activity! You may bring in a print and give it to Mrs. Lιger (please include your name on the back.) Or you may e-mail her a digital image at kromeo-leger@lenoxps.org.  Deadline for this opportunity is February 13th. If you have any questions, please let the MS Yearbook Committee know.
