OUT-OF-STATE HEALTH & SAFETY TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

OUT-OF-STATE HEALTH & SAFETY TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
FOR STUDENT & STAFF, SPRING 2021

This is William Cameron, the Superintendent of Schools in Lenox.  You will receive both a voice and a text message via School Messenger of what I announce here.

Parents, guardians, and Lenox Public School employees have justifiably requested information about what rules and requirements regarding COVID-19 might apply to those who elect to travel out-of-state during the April break, which begins April 17, or at any other time. You will find on the written message you are receiving a link to a memorandum that addresses these matters.

The memorandum reflects the requirements that most if not all Berkshire County school districts are implementing under our current COVID-19 situation. Those requirements explained in the message take effect immediately for students and employees. The directives contained there follow the out-of-state travel advisory Gov. Baker announced earlier in March.

Please read the requirements carefully. Please adhere to them. Our doing so collectively will keep our schools safe environments in which the learn and work as we transition back to full time, in-person instruction. Our doing so will also make the entire community safer.

My sincere thanks to Morris Elementary School Kathleen Shove and LMMHS school nurse Jennifer Drees for the work they did in ensuring that the document you are receiving is accurate and clear.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

This message will be posted on our schools’ and district website.
