SURVEY FOR RESUMPTION OF FULL-TIME IN-SCHOOL INSTRUCTION
IN LOWER ELEMENTARY GRADES

This is William Cameron, Superintendent of the Lenox Public Schools. In addition to this voice message, you will receive a written copy by e-mail. The text of this message will also appear on the District’s website, as well as on the Morris and LMMHS websites.

I am contacting you because you have one or more children in Kindergarten, Grade 1, or Grade 2 at Morris Elementary School.

As you may know, the School Committee has established a task force to develop and recommend a plan to the Committee for resuming full-day, in-person instruction in the lower elementary grades. The task force comprises parents, educators, and members of the Committee. Lenox is a small school district, and Morris is not an especially large elementary school; nevertheless, there are many factors and variables to take into account in developing such a plan. To do this well it is essential that essential that we have an up-to-date estimate of how many children in Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 would return to in-person instruction full-time and every day.

Each of you will receive a brief electronic survey by e-mail regarding your child or children’s returning to school or remaining in remote instruction. Please read the introductory material carefully, complete the brief survey, and submit it electronically. I recognize that we are seeking this information at a busy, perhaps hectic time of the year. I ask nevertheless that you be good enough to complete and return the survey by not later than Sunday, January 3, 2021.

The School Committee, the task force members, and I are most grateful for your co-operation. We believe that with your help we can ensure the best educational experience available for your child or children under these difficult circumstances.

Please accept my best wishes for a happy holiday season. And please stay safe.
