Dear parents and guardians,
With the start of school just around the corner, literally at the end of a short weekend, I’m sure you’re experiencing the same anxiety and excitement that we are at the schools. I wanted to take this opportunity to remind families of a few things.
First, please print or make accessible the Daily Home Screening Tool and list of Covid-19 symptoms to review each morning before school. Also, please take the time to take your student’s temperature and be sure that they are feeling well to be at school. Please keep students who are not feeling well at home, remote learning is available by contacting your student’s teachers or the school. Link to the Daily Home Screening Tool can be found on the school’s website under Health Services, Covid Protocols or on the Health Services Canvas page.
Reminder that FLU vaccines are mandatory this school year (2020-2021) for all students, in addition to required immunizations and updated Physicals for grades 7 and 11. There is an extension on getting medical documents updated, please complete these by December 31st; sending updates to the school as soon as your student has an appointment. For those families with Medical or Religious Exemptions on file, please remember that these documents MUST be updated annually.
And finally a reminder to any family who may have traveled outside of Massachusetts in the past few weeks. Please be vigilant in following the Massachusetts Travel Restrictions and Guidelines; quarantine and test as required. Travel Order link:
Our schools are only as safe as our community keeps us. Please continue to be socially/physically distant, wear a mask and use good hand-hygiene. Communication between home and school is how we are going to get through this, TOGETHER.
Health and Happiness,
Jen Drees, BSN RN NCSN, LMMHS School Nurse
