This is William Cameron, Superintendent of the Lenox Public Schools.
The United States Department of Agriculture has authorized universal free meals for all students attending the Lenox Public Schools. This authorization is valid until no later than December 31, 2020 or until funding is no longer available.
To order meals please call (413) 637-5537 and leave a message with your student’s name and grade. If you have more than one child in the Lenox Public Schools then please leave the names and grades of all those for whom you are asking for a meal. You should place your order for the week ahead. Please call or e-mail by not later Friday for meals the following week.
While remote leaning is taking place meals can be picked up on Tuesdays starting on September 15, 2020. The time for meals to be picked up is between 10:45 AM and 11:45 AM. Meals should be picked up at the Lenox Memorial Middle-High School theater entrance.
When the transition to hybrid learning occurs please continue to call (413) 637-5537 or e-mail email@example.com and leave your student’s or students’ name or names, grade, and morning or afternoon attendance group. These meals can continue to be picked up weekly; alternatively, bagged lunches will be given to the students as they leave the school building each day for families that have ordered them. Therefore, when you call or e-mail each week please let us know whether you prefer all meals for the week at once or the single lunch to be taken home from school daily.
Our full-day students will order meals daily from their classrooms.
As I have noted, meals will be free to all students for now. We may, however, at some point have to transition back to the National School Lunch Program, where students who do not qualify for free or reduced price lunch have to pay. Therefore, in order to prepare for when that might happen, we will be sending you information regarding the application that must be completed and returned in order to continue to receive free or reduced price meals at school. This information will also be available on the Lenox Public Schools’ website at www.lenoxps.org.
In addition to this voice message, you will receive a written copy by e-mail. The text of this message will also appear on the Lenox Public Schools’ website, as well as on the Morris and LMMHS websites.
