As you may know, I have 18 students from LMMHS participating in a Superintendent’s Student Cabinet. What an amazing group. They have divided themselves into three groups, with each group having a different focus. The first group is tackling eliminating the use of the “N” word at LMMHS. To do so, they have created posters to hang throughout the middle and high school. Also, the group has written a No “N” Word Pledge that they plan to hang in the cafeteria for students to pledge their agreement by signing if they wish.
The second group decided to pursue more interactions with our younger population at Morris. Toward this effort, the students will be assisting with the Elementary Talent Show in April, Field Day in May (date TBD), and an All School Musical Circle to be performed for the public at Morris, in May (date TBD). The Music Circle is intended as a thank you message to the public for their support of our schools!
The third group decided on a more politically focused activity and they will be interviewing Representative Pignatelli on March 18th @ 3:00 in the Duffin Theater. You are welcome and encouraged to attend. The event will be open to the public as well.
I hope that you can find time in your busy schedules to support the Cabinet’s efforts by attending one, some, or all of these events!
As always, thank you for all that you do!
Have a great weekend!
