An Early Childhood Open House for parents will be held at Morris Elementary School on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. We encourage residents of Lenox and Lenox Dale to visit our preschool and kindergarten classrooms to hear an overview of our programs and meet the screening teams. The preschool presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the kindergarten presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. Please note that children are not included at this time.
Early childhood screenings for children ages three through five will take place on March 25th, 26th, 27th. Children need to be three-years-old by September 1st to be eligible for our preschool program and five-years-old by September 1st to be eligible for kindergarten. The purpose of the screening is to identify children’s abilities and needs with regard to speech/language, conceptual, motor, emotional or social development. In order to make such a determination, a professional team administers screening tests in the areas of speech, vision, hearing, physical, social and cognitive growth. Screening appointments are required. There are no walk-ins.
Appointments for preschool screening can be made at the Open House on March 5th or by calling the Student Services Office beginning March 6, 2019, at 413-637-5571.
Kindergarten registration will be held on March 8 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the main office at Morris Elementary, 129 West St. You will need to bring a birth certificate, record of immunization and proof of residency. Kindergarten screening will be scheduled at that time.
