Weekly Message – Oct 26th

Dear Colleagues,

I am excited to share with you a new program being implemented a LMMHS this school year. The Peer Training Program which is sponsored by the Anti -Defamation League (ADL) – World of Difference Institute, will enhance LMMHS’s communication and reinforcement of its core values (Six Pillars of Character) while giving selected LMMHS students an opportunity to lead the conversation.

As a leading provider of anti-bias education, the ADL’s A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE Institute recognizes that attitudes and beliefs affect actions, and that each of us can have an impact on others, and ultimately, on the world in which we live.
The Institute’s customizable, interactive training programs are used by schools, universities, law enforcement agencies and community organizations throughout the United States and abroad. The Institute’s training modules and standards-based classroom curricula incorporate the latest research from the education field.
The origins of the A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE Institute date back to 1985, when ADL and WCVB-TV in Boston initiated the A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE campaign, a series of education and media-driven programs designed to combat prejudice and create effective tools to address these issues in the classroom and community. The campaign’s immense success led to ongoing programs across the country and several national awards including a Peabody, Gabriel and Scripps-Howard.
Peer Trainers will be selected by November 2nd. To date, we have 40 applicants! Thank you to the LMMHS program advisors, Megan Porter and Scott Wade for their efforts in this endeavor!

I will keep you informed regarding future events!

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for all that you do!

Best,
Kim
