Weekly Message – Sept 17th

Dear Colleagues,
I hope everyone is settling into the school year. Every year, school districts across the Commonwealth host “Back to School Nights”. Each year, I attend these events as a school administrator then I shed my administrator’s hat and attend these nights as a parent. And each year, I am reminded that for parents sitting in classrooms, districts are no larger than the teachers who are standing in front of them, introducing themselves and describing the work of the year. Naturally, the technical aspects of teaching and learning are critical to the success of a district, but on these evenings, I believe what is most important to parents is their hope to meet enthusiastic and caring educators who have a passion for their craft and who will challenge and inspire their child. On these nights, I believe parents will likely remember very little of what is said, but they will remember how teachers made them feel. As a parent who has attended many of these nights across many schools over the years, I am filled with gratitude for the work, talents, and enthusiasm demonstrated on our Lenox educators on Thursday.
Thank you to everyone for representing the work of our district and our profession so well on this special evening.
Have a great week!
